The continuing trend to smooth surfaces in interior design, as a side effect, makes it more difficult to create high quality room acoustics.
With MERO-Silent systems, the floor can be used as sound absorption areas. Perforated mineral panels as Raised Access- or Hollow floor with firmly applied Needlefelt covering can achieve αw values (Sound Absorption Average SAA) of 0,48 up to 0,71 acc. to ASTM C423. With perforated steel panels even 0,79 is possible.
In contrast to conventionally laid textile coverings with sound absorbing properties, MERO-Silent systems are also effective in the low-frequency range.
Next to acoustics, these systems maybe also used as source air floors. n. The airflow depends on the covering. Project -related test are generally possible.
